Folsom and Crooked Ponds have access to over 500 acres of water to fulfill your needs to fish or take in the beauty that surrounds the water. In the pond you will find smallmouth bass, white perch, and the feisty pickerel. You will not be bored with a day on these waters. Many guests see eagles, moose, loons and other wildlife just outside of their cabins. If you love the water, we have canoes and kayaks for you to use and explore the water.
The Penobscot River offers another option for the outdoors enthusiast.

The Penobscot River is famous for its world class bass fishing as well as its scenery. Eagles, osprey, and other critters are often seen while enjoying the beautiful river. You can fish the river with a guide (Please see our fishing page to learn more about our guided fishing.) or you can rent canoes and be shuttled to the river for a day of fishing by yourself.

Baxter State Park and Acadia National State Park are great options for a day trip from Eagle Lodge.

Baxter offers some of the best scenic views around with Mt. Katahdin as its backdrop. There are over 200 miles of trails maintained by the park for you to enjoy. Ponds, streams, bogs and waterfalls offer an endless opportunity for you to explore. Wildlife, such as the moose, are a common sight at the park, so bring your camera and be ready to enjoy some of the best that Maine has to offer.

If the coast is what intrigues you, then Acadia is the place for you. Acadia offers biking, hiking, walking trails and boat cruises. If sight seeing is what you want to do, then drive the 27 mile loop around the park. You can visit Sand Beach, Thunder Hole or Otter Cliffs, for some beautiful sights. Another big attraction is Cadillac Mountain, which is the highest point on the eastern seaboard. This trip is sure to create some lasting memories.

If relaxation is the only thing on your agenda, then a Massage will do the trick. Loraine is a Certified Massage Therapist who will leave you feeling peaceful and refreshed after her half hour or full hour massage. Before moving to the woods of Maine, Loraine was a full time massage therapist at a popular day spa in New Hampshire. Don't worry you will be in very good hands. A massage could make a world of difference and help you relax and enjoy your stay.

Every Friday night in June, July and August, Eagle Lodge offers a Lobster Bake for its guests. The lobster bake includes 2 lobsters,corn on the cob, steamers, potato salad, homemade bread and dessert. You will not leave the table hungry. The lobster bake is available for Housekeeping or American plan guests. So if your in the mood to experience a Maine tradition join us for dinner, you won't be sorry.
For those who love to bike and hike you won't be disappointed. Right from your front porch at Eagle Lodge, you have endless opportunities to explore the Maine wilderness. Whether it's a short walk or a day trip, you can explore the endless dirt roads that surround Eagle Lodge. There are two remote ponds within walking distance. Pack your camera and fishing pole to enjoy a day on the ponds that you wont forget. Let us pack a lunch for you ad you can be off on your own exploring for the day.
The Mattawamkeag Wilderness Park has over 1,000 acres of forests and river access for you to explore. If you enjoy hiking, then take advantage of the 15 miles of trails at your fingertips. Bring along your fishing pole and fish for some brook trout or salmon in the Mattawamkeag river. You will be sure to see some amazing wildlife, from deer to moose or eagles, this park would be a great trip for you to take, only 30 minutes from Eagle Lodge.

For those who love to Golf, enjoy one of Maine's most scenic golf courses. Jato Highlands is just a few minutes outside of town and offers some breathtaking views. Mt. Katahdin is at your display while you tee off. Jato is a new 18 hole golf course for the golfing enthusiast.

A 15 minute drive will bring you into downtown Lincoln where you will find a grocery stores, a Wal-Mart, Rite-Aid, Hospital, gift stores and antique stores. All of these shops are within walking distances of each other; so head into town, pack a lunch and enjoy the day.
